This is Great for Use with CAPS Screens – “Green” Emulsion Remover.

EMULSION REMOVER FOR EVERY SCREEN

Every day, we receive calls from textile or graphics printers asking for a recommendation for a non-aggressive Emulsion Remover. Without hesitation, we highly suggest the following products that are eco-consciously made and part of the RhinoClean Green² line of chemicals.

These products are perfect for those working in home-based work environments. They are biodegradable and, with the addition of a filtration system, you are doubly assured that any solids will be collected. As a result, the environmental impact to plumbing and septic systems continues to be protected.

Showcased today are: ERG² 8550L Emulsion Remover  that is a highly efficient ready-to-use product. This Emulsion Reclaiming Solution rapidly removes emulsion and capillary films from screens. It offers excellent freeze/thaw characteristics and is ideal for use in all climates. And it never separates out active ingredients. And, as mentioned earlier, environmental, economic, plumping system and septic field protections are assured when a filtration system is used in combination to collect solids that are 5 microns and larger. This can be accomplished by using a RhinoClean M10 Filtration System that has a woven filter media to collect the particles.

ERG² 8500L Emulsion Remover is also a highly efficient, ready-to-use product;  rapidly removing emulsion and capillary films from screens. The freeze/thaw characteristics are excellent so the product can be easily used in all climates. It never separates out active ingredients and can be used straight or mixed in a 1:15 ratio with water. The same protections are assured when a filtration system is used to collect solids that are 5 microns and larger.

Step-by-Step Video on Life Altering, Soy-Based Haze Remover for Screen Printers Everywhere.

This video will up your game, help you save money and increase profits.

REMOVE GHOSTS in SIMPLE STEPS – WATCH THIS.

Another eco-friendly product we’re going to discuss and recommend is a soy-based one that works well with screen frames that need to be de-hazed or, in technical terms, removed of ghost images. This product complements all types of screen frames enabling them to be used over and over due to clear-cut effects of  HRG² 2400 Haze Remover that is an environmentally responsible product and part of the RhinoClean Green² chemical line. Both graphic and textile screen printers’ use this specially formulated liquid product to remove imbedded U.V., conventional and plastisol inks that remain on the screen following emulsion removal.

HRG² 2400 effectively lifts the haze and imbedded ink from the mesh then emulsifies and dissolves the ink resins, binders, pigments, plasticizers, etc. The solution suspends resins, so reattachment to the mesh surface is prohibited allowing for simple water-rinse removal. HRG² 2400 is also an excellent degreaser. And the best part is that it is biodegradable, conforming to high standards and our industry’s need to be responsible stewards of our planet.

Effortless Screen Printing with IMAGE CLIP® Laser Dark Heat Transfer Papers

ImageWe haven’t shared the value of using IMAGE CLIP® Laser Dark Heat Transfer Papers yet, so here starts our discussion.  These papers are specifically designed for the heat transfer of full color images with oil or oil-less laser color copiers or color laser printers to dark and brightly colored items. For those of you who have shared our (past) frustration and difficulty when trying to print on dark items; when brilliant creative endeavors have been dashed because of high product expectations that don’t turn out as expected, this transfer paper is genius.

What we have is Laser Dark transfer paper that is an excellent product when printing on dark items such as T-shirts. We’ve found that 50-50 blends and polyester are no problem when using these papers; that the resulting prints produce rich, vibrant designs. The same holds true when printing on handbags, mouse pads, coasters, leather articles, art paper and more. Tip: choosing fabrics that are tightly woven provide even more of a quality print.

And there’s more. IMAGE CLIP® Laser Dark Transfer Paper does not need to be trimmed. It  is self-weeding (a great characteristic) and leaves no background plastic polymer – another great advantage of this paper.

Please check out this paper and others @ caps-screenprinting.com.

A Press Wash that is Environmentally-Sensitive and a Great Complement to Screen Frames

This is the answer to the questions we receive about which Press Wash to use. We’ve found that  PWG² 122 On-Press Wash (see video here) has proven to be a textile press wash that is environmentally conscious; safely conforming to regulations across the country, in particular, CA rules. It has been designed to work rapidly and efficiently on Plastisol Inks, quickly evaporating and leaving no solvent residue (or “slime” as some would refer to it) on the screen. PWG² 122 has a higher flash point than lacquer thinner, alcohols, ketones, etc. It is especially ideal for cleaning smeared or dried-in ink off the screen during a press run. This press wash has been termed “the perfect product to use for color changes on-press”.   Most importantly, PWG² 122 has a very pleasant smell, is biodegradable and non-flammable. It is a perfect choice for home-based printers as it can be safely disposed of once it has been wiped off the screen with a paper towel and becomes a solid waste.

Perfect Screen Frame Adhesive by RhinoTech Part 2

Part 2 of our Frame Adhesive story continues with RhinoBond that is an Instant Screen Frame Adhesive available in a Variety of Grades. The grades include:      1) Performance – that is the highest grade of frame adhesive on the market today. It is used to bond mesh to screen when stretching at a very high tension of 40 Newtons +;  2) Economy – this a cost saving frame adhesive  that also has bonding power of up to 30+ Newtons. Use this product when performance grade tensile strength isn’t paramount; 3) Toughened – this is the most widely-used grade of frame adhesive used. It has been designed specifically for the textile industry when screens are being stretched at approximately 25 Newtons.  This product also has greater flexibility than the Economy and Performance grades.  Additional characteristics of RhinoBond:

Cures at the Speed of Light – when the frame adhesive has been applied to mesh and frame and then sprayed with an aerosol or pump spray activator (primer), RBP 1500, the adhesive will cure within 10-30 seconds dependent on the grade of product used (Performance, Economy, Toughened). The frame can be used immediately.

Durability – the adhesive creates a permanent bond when bonding mesh to frame; it is abrasion resistant and stands up under wear and tear during the daily reclaiming of a screen for reuse (using chemical screen and press wash). RhinoBond can be removed with a frame adhesive remover like ARP 2600.

The Minimal or Low Odor Factor – what can we say about this other than it is important that a screen maker NOT be overwhelmed with an odor-producing product, so viola! RhinoBond has a very low odor.

Multiple Viscosities – RhinoBond is available in a range of viscosities from  thin to  thick viscosities. For example the lower the product number (RBA5) the thinner it is and the easier it is to penetrate through high mesh counts.  The higher the product number (RBA900) the thicker the product and   the easier it is to penetrate low mesh counts (25-85) as the frame adhesive will fill the open areas between the threads to offer a secure bond.

For screen makers who don’t inventory multiple viscosities, the most versatile and widely-used product on the market available today is a 100 cPs (viscosity) product offered by RhinoTech. This is a middle of the road screen printing frame adhesive that works on most commonly used mesh counts, 110-260, in the textile screen printing industry.
